Twin Valley Waterfall: AT KARJAT, MAHARASTRA, INDIA.

Some journeys are measured in kilometers. Others are measured in moments of awakening.

I joined a group of energetic young trekkers ‘” Wander with Wild” for a journey to Twin Valley Waterfall in Karjat, Maharashtra in September 2026. What began as a trek soon transformed into a profound meditation experience, reminding me that age is only a number when the mind remains young and open. After an early morning three-hour AC bus journey to the base village, we had delicious Maharashtrian breakfast “Poha & Chai” before we started the trek.

The moment we entered the trail; nature welcomed us with an abundance of greenery. The hills were draped in countless shades of green, while delicate wildflowers lined the path like silent companions. Every glance offered a soothing experience for the eyes. The gentle breeze, the songs of birds, and the distant sound of flowing water gradually drew my attention away from daily thoughts and into the present moment.

With every step on the ascending trail, I became conscious of my body. The climb naturally stretched different muscle groups. The calves awakened during steep sections, thighs strengthened with every upward push, and the hips, back, and shoulders expanded as I balanced on uneven terrain. Instead of rushing, I synchronized my breath with my movement. Inhale, step forward. Exhale, relax. The trek became a moving meditation.

As we climbed higher, the mind grew quieter. The constant chatter within slowly dissolved into awareness.

The earth beneath my feet grounded my Root Chakra, creating a feeling of stability and strength. The flowing streams along the route energized the Sacral Chakra, bringing creativity and joy. The warmth of physical effort ignited the Solar Plexus Chakra, filling me with confidence and vitality. Surrounded by endless greenery and natural beauty, my Heart Chakra felt open with gratitude. The rhythmic breathing and laughter shared with fellow trekkers expanded the Throat Chakra, while the serenity of the mountains sharpened inner clarity and intuition awakening Third eye chakra and Crown chakra.

The warmth generated by the climb ignited inner strength. Surrounded by beauty, my heart expanded with gratitude. Higher and higher I climbed, and with every step, I felt an alignment of body, mind, and spirit.

There was no past.

There was no future.

There was only this breath, this mountain, this moment.

When Twin Valley Waterfall finally revealed itself, cascading down the cliffs with magnificent force, time seemed to stand still. Standing before Twin Valley Waterfall, I felt completely present. The cascading water carried away stress, worries, and mental fatigue. The sound of rushing water washed away every lingering worry. Standing there, I felt as though nature herself was offering a blessing.

The waterfall was not simply a destination; it was a mirror reflecting the peace already present within. Such moments reveal the true essence of meditation, not in silence alone, but in complete presence with nature.

Waiting to be rediscovered through movement, companionship, and nature felt real. The mountains appeared covered in a soft green blanket. My eyes, weary from screens and city life, rested in this natural beauty. It’s a privilege to relax on the rocks by the emerald, green water and listen to the soothing sound of the waterfall with drops splashing on your face.

After spending fabulous time at waterfall, we started our journey back to the base village. As the ascent grew steeper, my attention naturally turned inward. The trek gently stretched every part of my body. My calves awakened with each upward step. My thighs grew stronger. My hips, shoulders, and back opened as I balanced over rocks and uneven paths. I began to synchronize movement with breath.

Step.

Breathe.

Pause.

Listen.

The rustling leaves became a mantra. The songs of unseen birds became sacred music. The flowing streams whispered ancient wisdom.

An ant’s house, a whirlpool shaped pit dug into soil became a sight to watch for.

The journey concluded at the base village with a simple organic vegetarian lunch. Freshly prepared local food tasted extraordinary after the trek. Fresh vegetables, simple flavors, and lovingly prepared and served local food tasted extraordinary after the trek. Every bite felt nourishing, as though the earth that carried us through the day was now feeding us directly. A perfect ending to a day dedicated to mindful living. Sitting together, sharing stories and laughter, I felt a deep sense of contentment. It was the peace I carried back.

Twin Valley Waterfall was more than a destination. It was a reminder that nature remains one of the greatest meditation teachers. A mindful trek through forests, flowers, streams, and mountains can balance the body, calm the mind, open the heart, and rejuvenate the spirit.

Nature teaches that meditation need not happen in a silent room with closed eyes. Sometimes meditation is a mountain path. Sometimes it is the fragrance of wet earth, the sight of wildflowers, the rhythm of a climbing body, the laughter of companions, and the thunder of a distant waterfall.

And sometimes, at fifty-seven, a trek through the green hills of Karjat can make you feel twenty-five again. I returned home carrying not only memories of a beautiful waterfall but also a renewed sense of peace, gratitude, and youthful energy.

For a few precious hours, I was not chasing life.

I was simply living it. 🌿🙏🏻💚

Do go Wild in the forests for mindful meditation and come really rejuvenated.
